EMERGENCY DONATION!

WFFT currently provides care to more than 700 rescued wild animals of sixty-two species. They live in spacious enclosures with the company of their own species (where appropriate). Some species currently in their care include more than 300 primates, including macaques, gibbons, lorises, langurs and great apes.

They also care for twenty-five elephants, otters, thirty bears, felines such as fishing cats, mountain lions, and numerous other species. Every year they rescue and rehabilitate around 150 wild animals to return to the wild, including avian species, pangolins, primates and more.

Part 1/4 of $22,200 Pledge to EDCH

EDCH Digital Fundraising Lead

We are pledging $22,200 to Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home (EDCH) in Edinburgh, Scotland to fund a digital fundraising lead position. We will donate the pledged amount in four parts, and today we donated $5,550.

You may remember that they were one of our first donations and, no big deal, it was the largest known cryptocurrency donation in the history of Scotland. This digital fundraising lead position will help EDCH with a number of tasks, including their crypto philanthropy program and fundraising efforts through social media and other digital channels.

Heaven on Earth Society for Animals

Heaven on Earth Society for Animals, which is not located in the metaverse, but in Los Angeles, California, is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2000. Their mission is to transform the lives of homeless cats through rescue, sanctuary, and new beginnings.

In the past 21+ years, they’ve saved the lives of thousands of cats and kittens by rescuing them from overburdened Los Angeles area shelters and directly from the streets. Their lifesaving begins when the cats and kittens arrive at Perry’s Place, their 5,500 sq. ft. shelter and sanctuary. There they provide on-site veterinary care to cats and kittens with medical conditions, mom cats with litters, and underaged kittens.

$5,000 To The Sloth Conservation Foundation

Sloth Conservation

We have reached day 11 of our 12 Days of Giving, and with today’s donation, Pawtherum is continuing to demonstrate our love for all animals. Whether you have paws, claws, or hooves, you are a friend to us. We are proud to announce that Pawthereum has donated $5,000 to The Sloth Conservation Foundation. Pawthereum is joined on this donation by RedPanda Earth, who added an additional $500.

Based in Costa Rica, the Sloth Conservation Foundation is dedicated to saving sloths in the wild in the face of extensive habitat destruction. The foundation is led by Dr. Rebecca Cliffe, who also works closely with the Sloth Sanctuary of Costa Rica.

$2,500 To the Maui Humane Society

Maui Humane Society

Aloha, Pawtherians. We have arrived at a most excellent location in Hawaii for today’s donation.

Maui Humane Society (MHS), which unsurprisingly is located on the Hawaiian island of Maui, is the recipient of our donation today. We are proud to announce a $2,500 donation to this organization. We were joined on this donation by a project named GroovyNFT. This cool (and groovy) project added an additional $500. This NFT project launches soon and will support shelters and charities by donating a percentage of NFT sales, so feel free to check them out on Twitter.

Hey Pawtherians, it’s day 8 and we move from the land of woof woof to the land of bark. That’s right, there are many more doggy paws to take care of during these pawlidays, so let’s get right to it!

Rescuers, Rehabilitators, Responders, and Representatives. This is The REAL Bark’s motto and it’s what sets them apart from the typical shelter. Nothing sums up what they do better than the story of Thor.

$5,000 To Dogs for Better Lives

Dogs for Better Lives

All of the donation recipients are doing such amazing work that it is impossible to pick any favorites. However, we are extremely proud to announce that we have donated $5,000 to Dogs for Better Lives, which is an organization that has been training and providing assistance dogs to people since 1977!

The Pawthereum team was able to sit down at a virtual meeting with some members of Dogs for Better Lives, and it was truly incredible to hear about how they help hearing impaired, blind, and autistic individuals.

$25,000 To senior dogs who need end-of-life support

Muttville Senior Dog Rescue

Day 5 of Pawthereum’s 12 Days of Giving, and we have selected an excellent cause for today’s donation. We are proud to announce that we have donated $25,000 to Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco, CA with a transaction of 25,000 USDC. We are joined on this donation by Thug Pugs, who added an additional 2 ETH (~$8k).

Thug Pugs also worked with us on our special donation drive for Pippa the Pug. They are a tremendous NFT project and are fantastic people to work with, so be sure you check their work out.

$5,000 To animals that are forgotten

Forgotten Animals

Hey Pawtherians, we are rounding into day 4 and we feel like we’re starting to hit our stride. Today we’re proud to announce a donation of $5,000 to Forgotten Animals. The donation was made with a transaction of 1.23 ETH.

Forgotten Animals is an incredibly unique organization. They are technically based in the UK, but workers and volunteers for the organization operate remotely across the globe.

$15,000 To help “unadoptable” Cats

Cat Town

Who is Cat Town? They are an awesome organization that has completely flipped the script on the traditional rescue model with their unique approach and mission to saving shelter cats. We are excited to announce a $15,000 donation to Cat Town with a transaction of 3.7 ETH. The Schrodinger Token project is joining us on this donation with an additional $10,000 (2.5 ETH) sent to Cat Town!

$50,000 To CVHAS Senior Paw Project

The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary

Pawthereum has made a $50,000 donation to the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary in Newtown, Connecticut. The Animal Sanctuary project was founded in honor of Catherine Hubbard, an animal-loving 6-year-old lost in the tragic Sandy Hook shooting, whose obituary nine years ago inspired thousands of people to make donations to local shelters.

$50,000 for Giving Tuesday 2021

Four Paws International

Pawthereum partnered up with them for Giving Tuesday 2021. Our matching donation of $50k helped fund expansions to dog rescues in Cambodia helping prevent dogs from being used as food and educating the local population about the importance of valuing dogs as pets and companions.

$118,000 for Paws Pantry Food Bank, Edinburgh Scotland

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home

Pawthereum donated 26ETH, (approximately $118,000USD or £87,000GBP at the time of the donation) on November 15th, 2021 to Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. This donation will fully fund the entire 2022 budget for the Home’s Pet Foodbank service, Paws Pantry. We have also pledged ongoing monthly financial support to EDCH starting in 2022.

$2,400 for Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, USA

Best Friends Animal Society

35 years ago, in the middle of the Utah desert, a small group of friends created a sanctuary for abandoned and abused animals. From a tiny start, the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab is now the largest no-kill animal shelter in the entire world. On any given day they house over 1,600 animals.

With our donation of $2400 , we’re happy to call Pawthereum official supporters of Best Friends and their no-kill mission.

$3,400 for Sterling Animal Shelter in Massachusetts, USA

Sterling Animal Shelter

Another no-kill shelter, most of you already are familiar with Sterling Animal Shelter, the recipient of Grumpy’s 39 ETH donation earlier in the year that helped launch our predecessor project into the national spotlight.

We’re proud to call Sterling Animal Shelter our first official Pawthereum shelter partner, and donate total of $3400 ($2400 + $1000). We plan to work together on some projects in the future.

$1,300 for Wright-Way Rescue in Illinois, USA

Wright-Way Rescue

Started in 2003, they’ve made huge strides to help as many of these animals as possible. In 2019 they traveled over 110,000 miles to help save over 5,000 animals in need, and they’ve rehomed over 50,000 total animals since being founded. Volunteers drive over 700 miles a week (combined) to rescue and bring abandoned animals from far away to Wright-Way’s locations in Illinois.

With our donation of $2400, we’re happy to call Pawthereum official supporters of Wright-Way Rescue and their mission to rehome animals.

$1,300 for Four Paws International Vienna, Austria

Four Paws International

Four Paws International operate around the world, with offices in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Kosovo, the Netherlands, Switzerland, South Africa, Thailand, Ukraine, the UK, the USA, and Vietnam as well as sanctuaries for rescued animals in eleven countries.

With our donation of $1300, we can now officially say that, in addition to cats and dogs, Pawthereum has helped rescue and care for bears, apes, chimpanzees, gorillas, lions, tigers, leopards, owls, hedgehogs, and more.

$1,300 for Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in San Francisco, USA

Muttville Senior Dog Rescue

We were pleased to include Muttville Senior Dog Rescue in our donation because of their specific mission: to help find homes for older dogs that are adoptable and to offer end-of-life care for those that cannot.

Started in 2007, Muttville was the first cage-free facility in the entire nation. Over the years they’ve helped rescue over 9,000 dogs. Their services include foster programs, hospice programs, and an on-site veterinary suite. They are currently fundraising to open their “forever home,” a new permanent headquarters in San Francisco.

$1,300 for Second Chance Rescue in New York City, USA

Second Chance Rescue

Second Chance Rescue takes a different approach from the other organizations on our donation list. Instead of operating a shelter, they’ve developed a large network of volunteers, donors, and medical teams in order to work with shelters across New York City to help speed up adoptions, provide medical care so animals can stay in their current homes, rehab critically injured animals, and overall reduce the number of animals on shelter kill lists in the city.

With our donation of $1300, we’re happy to call Pawthereum official supporters of Second Chance Rescue and their mission to help speed up adoptions, provide medical care for animals.
